Marketplace & Global Buyer’s Club

Project teams work hard to select the best products for their clients, only to lose 40% of those specified products to cost cutting and unwanted substitutions.

No more!

Our Marketplace, with a built-in Global Buyer’s Club, is the first of its kind, designed specifically for construction. By aggregating thousands of unrelated projects in one place, suppliers access unprecedented volume which enables them to offer discounts based on this demand.

GPO’s (group purchasing orgs) have proven the model of volume-based cost savings, but they have too many limitations for construction. Our model is a cross between the aggregation of GPO’s and the flexibility of B2B Trade Exchanges, resulting in the best of both worlds:

We are very excited to announce a new partnership with USGBC CA for their Rebuild Marketplace, first targeting the efforts to rebuild Los Angeles after the disastrous wildfires, then to be a tool for the entire California market. This collaboration ensures that rebuilding efforts use the healthiest, most cost-effective products to ensure resiliency of these communities.

Just click on one of the links below to register for the marketplace, and contact [email protected] if you have any questions! Our staff will be there every step of the way to help you get going!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Q: Is there a cost?
A: There is no cost to buyers. Manufacturers get real sales leads (actual bid requests!) for free, in real time to their “live-lead dashboard” and only pay a small data / transaction fee once there is a purchase.

Q: What’s the difference between Marketplace and Buyer’s Club?
A: The Marketplace allows builders and their suppliers to maintain their existing relationships while the Buyer’s Club lets anyone take advantage of procurement aggregation. Buyers can request their preferred supplier, but the manufacturer may designate a different supplier depending on the relationships they have and the discount they choose to offer.

Q: If I join the USGBC CA Rebuild Marketplace, can I also sell nationally? Or do I have to sign up for each separately?
A: Signing up for USGBC CA Rebuild Marketplace ALSO gives you access to our National Marketplace! You don’t have to do anything special or take extra steps. If you are a regional distributor, you don’t have to worry because buyers outside of your territory won’t be contacting you!

Q: How big is the sales opportunity in the Marketplace?
A: The USGBC CA Rebuild Marketplace is starting in Los Angeles, but then being used CA-wide! Los Angeles has 75,468 structures that need to be rebuilt or renovated. The national (actually global) marketplace is a multi-billion dollar opportunity. BuildingEase is used by owners of all sizes, but includes global portfolio companies, national companies and regional companies. There has never been a marketplace for our industry that is exclusively for building products, tailored to the needs of construction procurement. This is THE place to be.

Q: What if there’s a problem with my order?
A: We broker the transaction to offer the best pricing, but once there is a commitment to purchase, the order is fulfilled through usual channels and the supplier takes on all typical fulfillment obligations, including dealing with order issues.

Q: Who is a “Buyer” and who is a “Seller”?
A: A Buyer is most typically an owner (facility manager purchasing items for replacement or small renovation), or a construction professional. There are cases where another party, such as a designer with special services that include procurement, also uses the platform. Although residential projects are included in our platform and there’s no reason that homeowners couldn’t purchase products, it is recommended to have their builder make purchases. A Seller could be a manufacturer, rep, distributor or similar. Sometimes manufacturers sell products directly but otherwise, a manufacturer is likely to be the first contact for the Buyer’s Club because many distributors are regional so can’t group purchases from all around the US to offer volume discounts.
